We refurbish, advise and accompany – from the first viewing to the finished wall. Ecological building materials, technical building advice, construction support and purchase advice from a single source.
Salt-laden sea wind, high humidity, strong sun: in the Canary Islands reinforced concrete ages faster than anywhere on the mainland – and the rules for dealing with it are known. We know the materials not from the data sheet but from our own hands: repair mortars, corrosion protection, waterproofing, clay and lime plasters – all applied by ourselves, in this air, on these components. We know what causes problems during application, what is still standing after years and what is not. My planned research project (a doctorate is intended) starts exactly there: a standards-based, digital damage assessment to EN 1504 – asking how repairs in areas of high chloride exposure can be made even more durable. Preparation in the Master's programme in Building Protection at Hochschule Wismar; the tool: ConcretoCadastre.
More and more people are leaving mainland Europe and finding their anchorage on La Gomera. They buy houses and apartments – usually from Germany, under time pressure, without local contacts. This is exactly where we come in: as a reliable partner who accompanies the purchase, keeps an eye on construction quality and carries out the refurbishment with ecological materials.
La Gomera's climate – salt-laden sea wind, high humidity, strong UV radiation – systematically attacks reinforced concrete structures. Chlorides penetrate, the reinforcing steel corrodes, the concrete spalls. We detect, diagnose and repair – before a crack becomes a structural problem.
Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Fachrichtung Architektur (German university degree, Hochschule Bremen)
Specialised master's programme (distance learning, WINGS – Hochschule Wismar) deepening building diagnosis, repair and structural preservation – and preparing a planned doctorate.
Standards-based, digital condition survey and damage assessment for reinforced concrete components – developed on residential complexes on La Gomera and to be validated as part of a planned research project. The tool: ConcretoCadastre.
The Complejo Laurisilva is a residential complex on La Gomera. We have been working in this complex for years – for individual owners on their apartments. We have served as volunteers on the building committee and made information papers available to the owners. Separately from the property, we are developing a digital diagnostic procedure for reinforced concrete. We keep these three roles strictly apart. Our work on the apartments ranges from simple repairs to complete refurbishment.
Anyone who wants to refurbish a reinforced concrete complex first needs answers to three questions: what is damaged, how badly, and how much of it? ConcretoCadastre turns the on-site inspection into a traceable damage register to EN 1504 – component by component, with automatic damage classification and quantity take-off. The procedure was developed on residential complexes on La Gomera and is to be scientifically validated as part of the planned research project.
Four refurbishment examples on La Gomera — carried out with ecological materials and local tradespeople.
Three things most owners do not know: if the cause lies in the common elements, remedying it is the community's job – not yours. Towards the building insurer a two-year limitation period applies. And the costs of a professional damage assessment can be recoverable. We provide the tools for this free of charge – no mandatory forms, no request for your address.
General information, not legal advice for the individual case. The applicable regulations, the deed of division and the respective insurance conditions are decisive.
Whether purchase advice, construction support or refurbishment – we answer in German, Spanish and English.
